OREANDA-NEWS.  On February 18-22 the Mashinostroitelny Zavod (MSZ), part of the Fuel Company TVEL, hosted a working visit of a delegation of Fortum (Finland) and representatives of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Authority of Finland (STUK).
 
The visit goal was the supervision over fabrication of fuel for Loviisa NPP with delivery in 2013. The Finnish colleagues were interested in various technical aspects of the fabrication process, current state of things in manufacture of component parts and fuel assemblies, improvements of the fabrication process, qualification of new processes, as well as the documents on quality control. In the framework of the visit the guests toured to main fabrication shops and took part in a set of meetings with the facility management.
 
The Finnish specialists were satisfied with the visit results. They pointed out that MSZ still paid much attention to the product quality and continue improving in this respect. After the meeting a record was signed to note that all planned supervisory actions in regard of the production process had been fully completed and no issues were raised or discrepancies were found during the inspection.
