February 26, 2013. `One-to-Five` originates from the `One-to-Hundred` concept of China`s ((HouHan shu)), where POSCO will support each employees` development so that they can increase their competitiveness in order to possess the ability to carry out five people`s roles, furthermore increasing the company`s competitiveness, reported the press-centre of POSCO.

Each individual who becomes a `one-to-five` talent is expected to increase personal market value. In an era where the average lifespan is expecting to reach 100 years, employees can increase the chance of living an enriching life by developing various abilities. For a future of happiness, efforts to develop abilities such as work performance and foreign language studies will help individual employees` generate greater results than before.

These results lead to the development of the company to lead a virtuous circle structure, and will in turn let the employee and company grow together.

In detail, employees can become one-to-five talent in aspects of work, learning, lingual, talent, and performance.

First, a `One-to-Five` talent at work can carry out more than five different types of tasks or has the specialty to cover five different people. In other words, it means securing experience in various tasks or having high specialty in one task. POSCO is supporting employees` to experience various duties such as mastering operation and maintenance, multi-functionalizing tasks, and rotations, or supporting various unit tasks within the same function.

In the academic field, it means learning five years` worth in one year.

Utilizing self-led programs such as the Smart Learning System which allows learning anywhere, anytime and mentoring which can deliver work knowledge and experience, customized education programs are offered to employees to reduce the time needed to learn.

In the foreign language field, one-to-five talent aims to be able to freely use approximately five different languages.

As the company grows globally, there are increasing opportunities to be active on a global stage and thus employees can learn various languages including English through language clubs, e-learning, and phone lectures.

Possessing more than five different talents is also a goal of a one-to-five employee. Finding and developing talent in various fields not only leads to creativity on the task, but also becomes a condition in making life abundant.
