OREANDA-NEWS. Wayne, A GE Business (NYSE: GE) and a global innovator of fuel dispensers and forecourt technologies, announced today that it has completed the installation of premium diesel fuel additive options at 60 Shell retail service stations across Canada. The additive storage tank is integrated into the Wayne Ovation™ fuel dispenser, serving as a cost-effective additive alternative for site owners and fleet operators by alleviating forecourt construction to install an underground storage tank.

Fuel additives can help enhance the quality and efficiency of the fuels used in motor vehicles. Key benefits include improved engine performance and preventing the buildup of engine deposits.

“By introducing a premium diesel product, we are offering our customers more choices,” said Mike Papulkas, relationship manager for Shell Canada. “We selected the Wayne solution because it enables us to add this new fuel offering directly at the dispenser without adding new infrastructure.”

The integration of the additive option into the Ovation fuel dispenser is unique within the industry. Other suppliers offer dispensers that provide fuel additives, but require underground storage tanks or primitive fuel additive boxes attached to the top of dispensers that may be difficult to fill.

“We have been working with Shell Canada for just under two years to complete this nationwide initiative,” said Peter Parmentier, Wayne V.P. of sales and service for Canada. “By integrating the additive solution into the dispenser, we help site owners update their forecourt while reducing site downtime and customer inconvenience.”

In addition, the technology is being implemented at 26 Shell-branded sites through wholesale distributor Sobey’s, for a total of 86 installations that have been completed or are in process.
