OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2013. For the first time United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) takes part in the Avalon 2013 air show in Melbourne, Australia. UAC will showcase its military, civil and amphibious aircraft: PAK FA (advanced frontline aircraft system), SSJ100 and Be-200 models.

Rapid growth of the whole Asian Pacific air transportation market can give momentum to sales in Australia, New Zealand and other countries of the region. The Pacific air transportation market itself is quite mature and its growth is relatively slow.

Currently, the fleet of the region consists of 910 aircraft. 10% of them are 61-120 seaters and about 90% of the fleet is based in Australia and New Zealand. About 40 Fokker 100 aircraft from the current fleet in Australia are to be soon retired due to age – 20 years at an average. This segment looks potentially promising for UAC as SSJ100 could capture this segment because of the aircraft’s high operations flexibility and economic efficiency.

Australia is very environmentally responsible and stands for pollution and noise level restrictions and SSJ100 performance fully complies with future environmental requirements and allows the aircraft to operate within the country. MC-21 being under development will also comply with existing and potential emission and noise requirements.

According to UAC’s estimates, the demand for new aircraft in 61-120 seats segment until 2031 in the region might reach 50 aircraft. Demand for new 120-220 seat aircraft will surpass 500 aircraft and that grants opportunities for MC-21 in the medium term.

Taking into consideration geographic and climate characteristics of the continent, Be-200 has potential with Australian Customers - both in its fire-fighting and patrol modifications.
