OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport hosted an exceptional event: young photographers were given a several hours opportunity to shoot planes of Domodedovo partner airlines during their take off, landing and taxing directly from the airfield.

Domodedovo teenagers spotting became a starting point of all-Russian event ‘Aviation in frame’, dedicated to ninetieth anniversary of civil aviation in Russia. This event was organized by Domodedovo airport and non-governmental organization “Young aviation” jointly.

Besides Domodedovo teenagers-photographers are to visit more than 20 main aviation places in Russia. The range of events under “Aviation in frame” will be held up till the end of summer and will be finished with an exhibition of best photos.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is a significant place for such an event start as the airport is a founder of an aviation spotting events tradition in Russia. In 2007 Domodedovo became the first which officially carried out an open day for aviation fans having given to them an opportunity to take photos directly from the terminal apron. Nowadays Domodedovo organizes spotting events on regular basis several times a year. Terminal apron, technical service operations, airplane taxings, take offs, landings — all the most attractive scenes from airport life can be photographed during the spotting event. At the same time, spotters have opportunity to take photos of unique aerotechnics, for example super airliner Airbus A380.

On 28 February young spotters got a lot of bright impressions and also found out various striking thought-provoking facts about airplanes and apron equipment from airport employees. When the spotting event came to the end the spotters expressed a desire to take part in such traditional events in future.

Besides youngsters experienced photographers also took part in the event of 28 February. Julia Loris, a participant of the event, comments: “Wonderful that young photographers got an opportunity to try hand at taking photos of such an unusual and complex object as airport. Spotting is a fascinating hobby. Guests of Domodedovo will surely remember ‘the initiation ceremony’ into spotting ‘cargo cult’. We have such a belief if you are lucky to take a photo of cargo liner in the very beginning of the event the spotting will be successful”.

Aviation fans save the dates and visit Domodedovo spotting days regularly. First winter spotting took place in Moscow Domodedovo airport on 7-8 February dedicated to ninetieth anniversary of civil aviation in Russia.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport — is the largest one of Russia, in 2012 the airport served 28,2 million people. It joins the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI) and on results of 2012 became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development. Domodedovo is chosen for flights by member airlines of two largest global airline alliances – Star Alliance and oneworld.
