OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2013. Cooperation between Ukraine and India in space area is sucessfully developing. In particluar, realization of a joint Ukrainian-Indian project “Jasmine” is underway and it envisages designing of a rocket for Indian space launch vehicle.

This topic was discussed in the course of meeting of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Olexandr Pinskyi with chairman of Indian space research organization (ISRO), head of Indian space commission and secretary of Space department of government of India Dr. K. Radhakrishnan.

During the event the parties positively evaluated the state of Ukraine-India cooperation in space area, tackled prospects of realization of industrial phase of “Jasmine” joint project (the project was launched in 2006) and outlined directions of further interaction.

The Indian party expressed support of an idea to hold in Kyiv in 2016 International Astronautics Congress. The ISRO chairman confirmed that within nearest time forming of Indian part of bilateral panel for space issues would finish and Indian specialists would be sent to Ukraine with an aim to specify bipartite cooperation programs.

It should be noted, through March 19-22 a Ukrainian delegation led by Olexandr Pinskyi stayed in India in the framework of holding the 2 –nd sitting of the working group for trade and economic cooperation in the composition of Intergovernmental Ukraine-India commission for trade, economic, scientific, technical, industrial and cultural cooperation.
