OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2013. In this period import of all kinds of fuel declined in natural terms, InfoMarket was said to in the National Energy Regulatory Agency.

In particular, petrol import declined 17.6% to 159.2 thou. t; diesel import decreased 1.6% to 348 thou.t.; import of liquefied gas dropped by 9.4% to 70.8 thou. t. Largest petrol importers of 2012 were represented by Petrom-Moldova (with the petrol market share of 34.2%), LUKoil-Moldova (31.7%), Tirex Petrol (14.3%). In 2012 petrol was imported from Romania mainly. Its share in the total volume of the petrol imported made up about 65.9%. Shares of Austria and Bulgaria were 12.3% and 7.1% respectively.

The major diesel importer was LUKoil-Moldova, whose share made up 32.9% in the total amount of the diesel supplied to Moldova in 2012. Tirex Petrol’s share was 16.1%, Petrom Moldova making up 15.1%. In 2012 diesel was imported from Romania mainly. Its share in the total volume of the diesel imported made up about 50.7%.

The shares of Belarus and Russia were 15.6% and 15.2% respectively. According to ANRE, in 2012 Valiexchimp produced 1955.4 t. of diesel from oil extracted in the country, 46.2% down as compared with 2011. The share of the domestic diesel production was 0.6%. Largest importers of liquefied gas were Printemps (28% of the total amount), LUKOIL-Moldova (25.9%) and Dominic (21.8%). In 2012 liquefied gas was chiefly imported from Russia (49.2% of the total volume), Kazakhstan (40.2%) and Romania (9.6%).

There were 124 operators on the fuel market of Moldova in 2012. Petrol and diesel were retailed at 602 filling stations of Moldova. Liquefied gas was sold at 385 stations. For the last four year the fuel market of Moldova has been characterized by the increasing share of diesel in a total amount of the fuel import (by 8 p.p. from 52.2% to 60.2%) and the growing share of liquefied gas (by 2 p.p. from 10.2% to 12.2%) the share of petrol declining by 10 p.p. from 37.5% to 27.5%, ANRE reports.
