OREANDA-NEWS. It is possible to go ahead with the denomination of the Belarusian ruble in 2014, provided inflation stays under 12% in 2013, said Chairwoman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Nadezhda Yermakova.

“I am thinking about denomination but for now inflation discourages it,” she said. In 2012 Belarus’ inflation rate reached 21.8%, while in 2011 it exceeded 108%.

Belarus has had two denominations of the national currency, in 1994 and in 2000.
