OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, European mobile operator, has issued the rating of mobile devices used in Tele2 network. Over 70% of Tele2 subscribers prefer simple phone devices. However, more and more people are using smartphones and communicators that support data services.

Smartphones grew in popularity in 2H12 – their number has increased by 40% against 1H12, whereas their share totaled 16%. Nokia is rated 1st (45%) among smartphone producers although the share of the company’s devices dropped by 17%. Samsung (31%) and HTC (6%) have been ranked 2nd and 3d correspondently.

 Symbian topped the operations system rating (45%). Android-operated smartphones are ranked 2nd with their share growing to 34%. OC Bada smartphones took the third place with a share of 12%. It is worth mentioning the popularity of iOS-operated devices in 2H12 surged five-fold.

 Despite a dynamic growth of smartphones, low-cost bar-type handsets account for a majority of devices used by Tele2 subscribers. Nokia and Samsung are most popular among users, they account for 70% of all devices in Tele2 network. LG took the third place largely lagging behind other competitors.

 Nokia has retained leadership among mobile phones producers having brought its share up to 40% in 2Q12. The top 5 list is headed by Samsung E1080 with Nokia devices keeping other four places (Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616, Nokia 2700, Nokia Х1-01).

 Around 12% of mobile devices used by Tele2 support several SIM-cards. Also, Tele2 network counts some unusually-shaped phones, which are: Alcatel OT-810, Panasonic X300, Samsung SGH-F310, Motorola V100, Samsung SGH-P920.

 Apart from handsets and communicators that support data services, Tele2 subscribers use modems and tablets. Simicom and Huawei leave other modems producers behind. The top 5 list Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Acer Iconia Tab, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Huawei Ideos S7 Slim, Apple iPad 2.
