OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines will lease 12 Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. The acquisition of 12 Next-Generation 737-800 jetliners under the agreement signed by Russia’s largest bank Sberbank, its subsidiary Sberbank Leasing and Boeing will contribute to airline’s fleet further renewal and expansion.

The first Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft are to be delivered to the airline in 2015. Transaero plans to operate these jetliners both on domestic and international routes.

The airline has amassed a wealth of experience in operating Boeing 737 NG aircraft. In 1998 Transaero Airlines became the first in Europe and the second air carrier in the world to receive Boeing 737-700. Currently, the airline operates 16 Boeing 737 NG aircraft including 11 Boeing 737-800 NG jetliners.
