OREANDA-NEWS. Nordecon enter into a contract with AS Paide Vesi for reconstruction of the water treatment plant in Paide. The total value of the work with the reserve of the contracting entity is 6.74 million euros exclusive of VAT.

“The contract entered into today will soon provide a solution to the longstanding concern in Paide and next year, the local water undertaking would be able to exploit an up-to-date water treatment plant,” said Avo Ambur, member of the Management Board of Nordecon AS. “Such costly investments into water economy are in the long run indispensable for local governments, but on the other hand, they will entail many benefits – the natural environment and the welfare of residents will improve, while work of this kind could only be performed with the help of European Union support funds. It is inevitable that the work related to the replacing of pipelines will also mean excavations in residential areas and the everyday environment will temporarily change. However, Nordecon has longstanding experience in the construction of infrastructure and I’m convinced that the final outcome will satisfy all parties concerned.”

The construction project will include the building of a new technical structure for the water treatment plant, tanks for treatment processes, tank vehicle wash lot and a driveway up to Raudtee Street, as well as a new garage and the installation of a compact substation. Nearly 2.5 kilometres of downstream, pressure and rainwater sewerage pipes will also be mounted and more than 300 metres of drainage pipes built.

The construction of the Paide water treatment plant will begin in May and will last until next July.
