OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has always been a pioneer in promoting Safety in and around their areas of operation. Reinforcing the Safety policy, Tata Power’s Power House #6 and Jojobera celebrated safety week through various programs organised for the company and stakeholder employees at Jamshedpur.

The week long program started with ‘National Safety Day’ celebrated on 4th March in the presence of employees where all the employees took the safety pledge. Suraksha, Swasthya Evam Paryavarana Samiti (SSEPS) a safety committee maintained by Tata Power organized various programs on the theme ‘Safety’ for an entire week in Jamshedpur.

The program spread awareness on safety procedures and measures through various actives that were undertaken in a fun and creative manner. Safety quizzes, Safety Poster & Safety Slogan Competitions were also conducted for the employees, stakeholders and their families. The participants were also made aware of methods of preventing Leg Injuries as a special focus.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dinesh S Kudalkar, Head Jojobera Station, said, "Safety is a continuous journey and each day we need to put in our efforts in order to avoid any probable incidents. Such initiatives give employees and stakeholders a chance to revisit the importance of Safety. It’s our endeavour to make our power plants a ‘Safe Zone’. With the help and support of our staff we have already raised our safety standards and will continue to build on our efforts towards such initiatives so that we can encourage people at large in our city and country to take appropriate measures and adopt Safety as a way of living."

All the winners of events were felicitated during the concluding function, where prizes were given to individuals who have performed exemplary work in the year for improving the standard of Health, Safety and Environment. There were additional awards for the Over All Best Safety Performers, Most Advancing SIT and Best Performing SIT. Family members of employees who have participated in various safety competitions were also rewarded on the occasion.
