OREANDA-NEWS. NK RussNeft has launched an integrated communication system based on Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Microsoft Exchange 2010, integrated into the existing terminals of video and telephone communications. This helped to improve the efficiency and quality of the interface between the holding’s personnel in Moscow and KhMAO. Softline was a partner in the project.

Implementation of the pilot phase of the project was commenced in 2012. It involved the Moscow office of OAO NK RussNeft and OAO MPK Aganneftegazgeologia, West-Siberian subsidiary of the holding.

The project started with deployment of the integrated communication system servers based on Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Microsoft Exchange 2010. During the second phase, the integrated communication platform was linked to the existing Cisco VCS and Codian video communication terminals as well as Avaya telephony.

The system’s design is open and allows future extension of its functionality and efficiency. The provided system of audio/videoconferences allows instant exchange of messages, demonstration of presentations, receiving calls both within the company’s network and outside. Besides, voice messages recording and automatic answering are implemented based on Microsoft Exchange 2010. Simultaneous operation of two servers allows to ensure uninterrupted performance of the integrated communication system and the load balancing.

The extended communication platform allowed NK RussNeft to significantly improve the efficiency and quality of the communication between the holding’s personnel in Moscow and Nizhnevartovsk. The users got more mobility due to the realized external access to the communication system from mobile devices facilitating the decision-making process in the company. The project will cover other subsidiaries of OAO NK RussNeft in 2013.
