OREANDA-NEWS. Dunkin’ Donuts’ Indonesia flagship store in Palembang, Indonesia, will be the first Southeast Asia franchise location to be lit entirely by LEDs. The store will save USD 21,000 in annual energy and maintenance costs by opting for GE’s Tetra® LED signage lighting and GE LED display, general and ambient lighting instead of halogen PAR lamps often used in these applications.

“To attract and serve our customers, quality illumination that exudes an inviting ambience plays a critical role,” says Tan Po Lian, franchise owner of Indonesia Dunkin’ Donuts. “GE’s high-quality, energy-efficient solution supports both Dunkin’ Donuts’ global brand image and our environmentally-conscious corporate philosophy and we look forward to implementing this LED solution at other outlets in the future.”

GE’s LED Tetra PowerMAX will light donut displays using fewer modules than traditional halogen systems, reflected in both energy and maintenance savings. LED Tetra MiniMAX systems will be used for indirect lighting across the store, and a variety of LED lamps also will be used for general ambient lighting.

The energy-efficient retail lighting solution will improve the store’s visual comfort level and light uniformity while delivering a 75 percent reduction in energy usage compared to traditional systems.

Doddy Prijambodo, sales manager for GE Lighting Indonesia, added: “Dunkin’ Donuts has exacting illumination requirements to bring out the best brand image and customer experience at each of its locations. For its flagship Palembang store, we delivered a solution that is energy-efficient while ensuring uniform illumination and improved visibility.”

In addition to energy and maintenance savings, from an environmental perspective, the change to more efficient lighting solutions is equivalent to eliminating approximately 145,640 kg of car emissions per year.
