OREANDA-NEWS. May 03, 2013. In the frames of a working visit to Brussels the First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has met with EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Ciolos.

A peculiar attention was paid by interlocutors to the consequences of introduction of a deepened and overall free trade area for agro-industrial complexes of the countries. Serhiy Arbuzov and Dacian Ciolos agreed on mutual profitability of future free trade zone based on the fact that a free trade regime between Ukraine and the EU will give a powerful impetus to the development of economic ties between the parties and create new opportunities for the participants of agro-industrial market of Ukraine and the EU.  

The parties also discussed actual issues of current cooperation. The Ukrainian delegation informed the Commissioner about the progress in creating the transparent market of agricultural lands, which will facilitate to further investments into the branch, and also addressed to receive support by Eurocommission in search of additional investment resources for the development of innovation biotechnologies.

In the context of cooperation in sanitary and phytosanitary areas, representatives of the Government of Ukraine welcomed opening of the EU market for Ukrainian poultry and assured in readiness to maximally cooperate with profile subdivisions of the European Commission with an aim to ensure opening within nearest time of access to the EU markets for milk and diary products from Ukraine.

First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov stays on his first working visit to Brussels. The delegation of Ukraine consists of Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov, Minister of Incomes and Fees Olexandr Klymenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk, deputy head of National Bank of Ukraine Mykola Udovychenko, Government Commissioner for European integration Valeriy Pyatnytskyi.
