OREANDA-NEWS. For the period of the first four month of 2013, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 1,005,934 passengers representing an increase by 15,1% compared to the same period in 2012. Passenger traffic on domestic routes made up 575,019 passengers (+4.8%), on international routes - 430,915 passengers (+32.4%).

In April, 2013 monthly passenger traffic grew by 17.3% compared to the same period of the previous year and totaled 264,642 passengers. As reported, 156,519 passengers were served on domestic routes (+6.8%), on international routes – 108,123 passengers (+36.9%).

Due to the strong growth of passenger traffic Novosibirsk International Airport served its first millionth passenger at April 30, 2013, that is 20 days earlier than in 2012.

In January-April, 2013 the airport provided operation of 11,394 ATMs (+6.6%). In April it reports 3,036 ATMs that is a 8.7% rise compared to the same period in 2012.

For four months’ period of the current year, cargo and mail traffic reached 9,047 tons (+11%) including 2,849 tons handled in April (+23%).

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards in the category “The Best Airport of CIS 2012”.
