OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has reported the appointment of Sergey Sergeev as technical officer for the Tele2 Russia North-West macroregion.

Sergey Sergeev will be in charge of constructing, operating and expanding Tele2 network as well as strategic and operating management of the macroregion’s technical service. He will be responsible for coordinating technical directorates in Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Karelia, St Petersburg, Pskov, Novgorod and Kaliningrad branches. At the same time, Sergey will hold the post of Tele2 Saint Petersburg technical officer and manage the regional technical service.

 Sergey Sergeev graduated from Tomsk state university of control systems and radioelectronics holding a degree in radio technology. Sergey has a wide experience in telecommunications. He joined the Tele2 team ten years ago, when he started his career as a senior engineer in charge of BSS subsystem.

 Tele2 pays particular attention to the quality of the services provided. Thus, in 2012 Tele2 technical service carried out large-scale works to improve quality of connections and expand coverage in the North West macroregion. Over 2012 the number of base stations in the regions grew by 12.5%. Tele2 Russia services are available to 96% population living in the North West macroregion. As of March 2013, over 11 million people are living at the territory of Tele2 coverage.
