OREANDA-NEWS. JSC Aviadvigatel employees gain secure mobile access to enterprise applications thanks to a comprehensive solution implemented by CROC.

“Enterprise mobilization offers an excellent opportunity to address the business tasks of our enterprise, and to help organize employees’ work from wherever they are. However, we were concerned about the use of multi-platform devices which dramatically increased the risk of confidential information leakage. As a result of the project, JSC Aviadvigatel employees now have the ability to remotely and securely use business applications via their mobile devices,” states Sergey Bormalev, IT Director, JSC Aviadvigatel.

“According to analysts, approximately 55% of office employees use mobile devices at work in Russia. However, Russian businesses became serious about taking measures to protect data on users’ personal devices only two years ago. This issue is particularly relevant for companies with 300 or more employees. Aviadvigatel, for example, has over 2,500 employees. The value of information in such organizations is higher than the cost of its protection,” says Konstantin Astakhov, Head of Portal and Mobile Solutions, CROC.

CROC specialists implemented a comprehensive solution to deliver a BYOD security policy within JSC Aviadvigatel. It included an MDM system which allows for the centralized management of mobile devices (the first enterprise deployment of MDM technology on McAfee software) and an SSL VPN subsystem based on Check Point which provides secure access to internal enterprise information resources.

“Thanks to the integration of the two solutions, Aviadvigatel now restricts and manages user access rights to different enterprise information resources and ensures confidentiality when transferring data over public channels,” says Anton Razumov, Security Consultant Team Leader, Check Point Software Technologies. He continues: “It is important that, as a result of system implementation, the company managed to ensure information safety on mobile devices and centrally distribute software and updates.”

“Directors of IT departments forecast strong growth of BYOD adoption in the next two years—63% expect an increase in the share of devices belonging to employees. As a result, IT security companies shall provide businesses with solutions to enable the same level of security and control over mobile devices as IT units have for personal computers,” says Ruslan Barbashin, Head of Sales Department, McAfee Russia and CIS.
