OREANDA-NEWS. The management team of the holiday charter airline Small Planet Airlines has been joined by Mr. Halldor Sigurdarson, who brings a wealth of international business experience.

As of May, Mr. Sigurdarson assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer of Small Planet Airlines responsible for the company’s expansion in international markets as well as all of its financial affairs.

According to Vytautas Kaikaris, the CEO of Small Planet Airlines, the company has ambitious expansion goals to strengthen its position in the largest European markets. And to reach these goals, an experienced team of managers with extensive international business experience is needed.

“Mr. Sigurdarson is a very experienced manager; he has created and implemented business strategies in large companies, has a lot of useful experience from working in various countries, and understands the charter airline market well. In Lithuania there are few managers with such competencies and we are very happy to have such a high-level professional on our team,” said Mr. Kaikaris.

Mr Sigurdarson's background is in the financial and aviation industries having consulted clients in the field of financial management and accounting at the audit and business consultancy firm Deloitte and Touche and holding senior management positions at MRO's and airlines for over ten years including Air Atlanta and Excel Airways.. The 39-year-old Icelander has a Degree in Economics from the University of Iceland and a Masters' Degree from the University of Canterbury in the United Kingdom.
