OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2013. ORLEN Lietuva Refinery has increased the fuels output to the maximum planned rates after the scheduled maintenance shutdown of several installations. During the four-week maintenance, ORLEN Lietuva replaced and revamped the installations, put in new systems and changed the catalyst.

“The Company’s effort to improve the performance efficiency is directed to increase of the production yields. We are implementing the projects, which will enable to ensure the continuous refining operations at full capacity during the annual maintenance,” said Ireneusz Fafara, General Director of ORLEN Lietuva.

During this spring’s shutdown, the visbreaking unit was cleaned up to return to the original condition and throughput capacity. The modern burner management system was installed in the kerosene and diesel hydrotreater heaters. The works also included change of the catalyst at the LK-2 complex diesel hydrotreatment unit, conducted by an experienced German contractor, Roher. The maintenance activities were conducted by more than 1,000 persons of 30 contractor companies.
