OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2013. The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) organized the experts to conduct the acceptance of the construction of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials based on Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. Ltd. (TISCO) in Taiyuan, Shanxi.

After the experts listened the report on the construction of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials, reviewed its relevant materials, inspected the laboratory, questioned and discussed, they agreed that the laboratory finished the tasks specified in the construction plan, achieved the construction goal and accepted the laboratory construction.
 
The acceptance meeting was chaired by Wu Gen, Director of Basic Research Administration Center of MOST. Zhou Wenneng,Director of Base Department, Bureau of Basic Research of MOST, Guo Chunlin, Vice Director of Shanxi Science and Technology Bureau, Zhou Yizhou, Vice President of TISCO, Wang Yide, Vice Director of Planning Committee of TISCO Board, Director of Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials (TISCO) and the other experts took part in the acceptance meeting.
   
Zhou Yizhou made the speech at the meeting on behalf of TISCO. He said that State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials was an important part of the enterprise innovation system and an important engine to drive the enterprise transformation. In the past two years, all the science and technology workers of TISCO, especially the team of laboratory, united as one and made joint efforts, successfully completed all the construction tasks of the state key laboratory with the supports from all levels of leaders. The state key laboratory met the acceptance criteria. The convening of the meeting was a milestone for the key laboratory and had significance for the future development of the laboratory and the perfection of the TISCO innovation system.
   
Zhou Yizhou hoped that all the experts would give their advice and suggestions, the team of the laboratory would keep making efforts to develop new products and materials, making breakthrough and new achievements and become the industry’s innovation leader in the future. He said that TISCO would support as always the construction and development of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials and make contributions for the construction of the innovation platform and innovation system of Shanxi and China.
 
Wang Yide said on behalf of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials (TISCO) that we had the responsibility and confidence to construct a good laboratory, give a full play to its role and build it into a laboratory with its own characteristics and influence and playing a leading role in some technological fields of the stainless steel industry.
 
The leaders from the MOST and Shanxi Science and Technology Bureau hoped that the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Stainless Steel Materials (TISCO) would expand its influence, form its own cultural atmosphere, maintain its development momentum and lead the development of the stainless steel industry.
 
The experts believed that the laboratory aimed at the development direction and technological frontier of the world stainless steel industry and centered on the basic scientific research and technological innovation research of the stainless steel materials. The direction of research and development of the resource-saving, high performance and functional stainless steel materials for special applications, the key manufacturing technologies and the basic research for application of stainless steel was accurate. Remarkable achievements were made in the construction phase of the laboratory, which played an active supporting and leading role in the field of China stainless steel materials, played an important role in promoting the industrial technology innovation, enhancing the technology transfer capability, improving the combination of industry- universities- research institutes and increasing the influence of China stainless steel materials in the world.
