OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero has received its second Tu-204-100C aircraft, which is now the second freighter in the airline’s fleet. The jetliner has been acquired in line with a lease agreement between Transaero and Ilyushin Finance Co under a long-term lease for two aircraft of this type.

The Tu-204-100C, tail number RA64051, was delivered to the airline upon the completion of the technical acceptance procedure at Ulyanovsk’s Aviastar-SP manufacturing company. The first Tu-204-100C cargo aircraft was delivered to the airline in April 2013.Transaero has chosen the Tu-204-100C aircraft with a view to enhancing its cargo transport operations. The acquisition of the freighter cements the airline's commitment to supporting the Russian aircraft manufacturing industry.

The airline plans to operate the aircraft on domestic as well as international routes.

Transaero Airlines is one of the Russia’s leading cargo transport operators. According to Transport Clearing House, Transaero Airlines emerged as the number one cargo transport operator in Russia on domestic routes in the period from January to April 2013 with its freight turnover increasing to a total of 76,1 million tkm.

At present, Transaero’s fleet consists of 99 aircraft including twenty four Boeing 747, fourteen Boeing 777, fifteen Boeing 767, forty one Boeing 737, three Тu-214 and two Тu-204-100С.
