OREANDA-NEWS. The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) launched a four-day campaign in Jubail to increase awareness on safe transportation of chemicals, reduce the risks of road accidents when transporting chemicals, and educate transporters on how to react in the event of such mishaps.

The campaign is being organized under the slogan, "Be careful, these are our souls,” in collaboration with the SABIC manufacturing affiliates, AL-RAZI, PETROKEMYA and SADAF, along with a number of government security agencies. Brigadier Abdullah bin Mohamed Al-Subaie, Commander of Special Forces, Road Security in the Eastern Province, Colonel Ahmed bin Saad Al-Omari, Director, Road Security Operations Division, SABIC executives, and government officials are among those who are taking part in the campaign, dedicated to the safety and well-being of the community.

The campaign seeks to educate SABIC-contracted truck drivers on the various types of chemicals. It highlights the importance of safe driving, the need to adopt preventive measures during transportation, the correct safety procedures to be followed when dealing with chemicals, and the actions that need to be taken when faced with an emergency.

The campaign also targets the various security bodies, including Security Patrol, Civil Defence, Industrial Security, Traffic, Border Guards and Red Crescent, besides community members.

As part of the campaign, an exhibition is being held along the Dammam-Jubail highway, highlighting the achievements of SABIC in ensuring safe transportation of chemicals. A variety of samples of chemical products and their symbols are displayed together with a range of safety equipment. Other educational resources, such as informative bulletins and lectures in multiple languages, are also employed to promote the understanding of safe transportation.
