OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2013. A second year of SORAINEN Academy workshops in Estonia, launched in 2012 in cooperation with ELSA (the European Law Students' Association) Estonia, has been successfully completed.

SORAINEN Estonia held eight workshops to introduce the “kitchen side” of a law firm by providing examples of usual workdays, analysing case studies jointly with students, and offering an opportunity to meet and communicate with top experts from various areas of practice. In addition to workshops of proven popularity – like insurance law, litigation and intellectual property – two new themes were added this year: public procurement and media law.

Next year’s plan includes not only law workshops, but also lessons about other skills essential for a lawyer: negotiating, public speaking, legal English and others.

During the past two years, the SORAINEN Academy programme has brought us together with highly talented and motivated young people who later filled most of our trainee positions. The Academy is a great opportunity to note which participants are proactive, with the smartest questions, attentive, able to contribute to debate and positively „law-minded“.

It is a pleasure to note that most of our recent new staff are recruited from among our former trainees. SORAINEN partners and lawyers positively understand their responsibility in training the next generation themselves.

The SORAINEN team is open for new members sharing our values. Our firm appreciates lawyers who seek continuous personal development and are client-oriented, friendly and reliable team members willing to share their knowledge. Moreover, team members act ethically and respectfully towards all colleagues, clients and business partners.

All law students sharing those values are invited to attend next year’s SORAINEN Academy.
