OREANDA-NEWS. Emergency response maneuvers in accordance with the Uniform State Emergency Prevention and Response System took place yesterday at the export offshore terminal RPK-Vysotsk LUKOIL-II, located in the Gulf of Finland.

The training included fire fighting on the oil-loading berth, bringing a tanker into the harbor, containment and skimming of oil spills and also onshore and offshore rescue operations.

Involved in the exercise were forty-seven fire and rescue equipment units, a K-52 helicopter, 137 officers and men of the Vyborg fire-guard garrison, a traveling post of the Russian EMERCOM for the Leningrad Region, the Vyborg Rescue Service and also respective subdivisions of the Vysotsk terminal.

Vladimir Puchkov, the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations, attended the maneuvers online through videoconferencing.
