OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disasters Response (EMERCOM) and Russian Machines corporation have agreed to cooperate in the development and manufacturing of special equipment for EMERCOM. The agreement has been signed at the Economic Forum in Saint-Petersburg today by EMERCOM Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Russian Machines CEO Manfred Eibeck. In accordance with this agreement Russian Machines will develop chassis prototypes with EURO 4-5 engines for the installation of fire-fighting and other equipment. Besides, the corporation will take part in the development of a program aimed at the renovation of EMERCOM's fleet of trucks and special machines and provide Russian Machines-made vehicles for EMERCOM humanitarian convoys. By October 15 Russian Machines is expected to come up with proposals on repair and modernization of the RM vehicles already operated by EMERCOM including their conversion to using natural gas as fuel. For its part EMERCOM will work out and provide Russian Machines with specifications for chassis intended to carry firefighting and other special equipment.
