OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (Yakutia OFAS Russia) recognized the fact of abusing dominance by “RemSodDom” Managing Company” Ltd. (Olekminsk) in the part of fixing monopolistically high price for utilizing liquid household waste (in breach of Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

The Commission of Yakutia OFAS Russia established that fixing the rates for 2013 the company included the costs irrelevant to production. The Antimonopoly Service also carried out a survey and concluded that there was no comparable market for utilizing liquid household waste within the geographic boundaries of “Olekminsk Town” Municipality, Olekminsk District, of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

On the basis of the case investigation, the managing company was included in the Register of economic entities with over 35% share on the markets of services for keeping dumps (grounds) of solid and liquid household waste.

“The Commission investigating the case established that fixing the rates for utilizing liquid household waste “RemSodDom” Ltd. unreasonably included the costs necessary for rendering these services, the costs for other types of activities, and the costs irrelevant to production in the production costs", commented Deputy Head of Yakutia OFAS Russia, Olga Yarygina.
