OREANDA-NEWS.  June 28, 2013. Russian Railways International LLC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and Serbian Railways have signed an additional agreement under a current contract to perform work on the construction (reconstruction) of railway infrastructure and supply diesel trains to Serbia.

The agreement was signed by Sergei Pavlov, Managing Director of Russian Railways International, and Dragoljub Simonovic, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing General of Serbian Railways, in the Serbian capital Belgrade.

The aim of the additional agreement is to construct a second electrified railway track on the Belgrade - Pancevo line of about 15 km in length. The construction of the track will significantly increase the line's capacity in the future.

Work on the line is expected to begin in mid-October 2013, following completion of the procedures necessary for accepting a contract for financing by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
