OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2013. Aviva Investors has appointed John Misselbrook, currently a non-executive director on the Aviva Investors board, as interim CEO.

John has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having held a number of senior management and operational roles globally, including as chief operating officer at Baring Asset Management.

Paul Abberley, who has been interim CEO of Aviva Investors, will move back into the business as Head of Investments with immediate effect.

Aviva CEO Mark Wilson said: “Aviva Investors is a core part of the group. By capitalising on its expertise in managing Aviva’s own funds, it has the potential to become a stronger and more vibrant third party asset manager, while also increasing its contribution to the group.

“John brings a deep understanding of the asset management sector. His appointment will strengthen Aviva Investors’ senior management and provide the oversight required to enhance our investment proposition and drive out complexity from the business.”

John’s appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
