OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2013. A group of Moldovan entrepreneurs pay a working visit to New York, the USA on 27 June - 4 July. During the visit, the entrepreneurs will visit the Summer Fancy Food Show.

The economic mission was organised by the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and is aimed at facilitating the initiation of new business partnerships and at informing businessmen about the innovations and trends in the food industry sector.

The head of the CCI’s exhibitions and fairs department, Marina Petrov, said that the Moldovan entrepreneurs were visiting for the first time the Summer Fancy Food Show, which is one of the US largest events in the area. Over 2,400 companies from 80 countries are attending the event. Semi-products, spices and preservative food additives, diaries, fruit and vegetables, alcoholic drinks and beverages, pastries, meat and meat products will be exhibited at the show.

The Moldovan businessmen will visit the exhibition’s stands and will hold bilateral meetings, depending on the activity’s area and on the business interests, Petrov said.

According to data by the National Statistics Bureau, Moldova exported to the USA goods amounting to 10.5 million dollars in the period January – April 2013, which is up by 20.7 per cent against to the same period of 2012. At the same time, the goods import turnover from the USA was of 25 million dollars, increasing by 11.4 per cent compared to the first four months of 2012.
