OREANDA-NEWS. The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali says its export proceeds grew 9% year-on-year in January-April 2013 to USD 825.65 million, a source in the profile ministry told.

In January-April 2013 OAO Belaruskali exported 1.288 million tonnes of potash fertilizer (in terms of 100% potassium chloride), up 28.8% on the year.

Export proceeds grew at the expense of growing sales rather than potash prices.

The average price of Belarusian potash fertilizer in Jan-April 2013 stood at USD 640per tonne to compare with USD 750 per tonnes in Jan-Apr 2012.

Belaruskali exported around 3.668 million tonnes of potash fertilizer (in terms of 100% potassium chloride) in 2012 (4.698 million in 2011), the average price being USD 727 per tonnes (USD 713).

Belaruskali's revenues reduced to 2.667 trillion rubles in 2012 from 3.249 trillion rubles in 2011.

The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world's largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers, employing about 18,440 personnel. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units.

Belaruskali controls 16% of the world's potash fertilizer market.
