OREANDA-NEWS. At the Council's General Meeting on June 18 Director of International Business at Kirovsky Zavod Albrecht Bochow was elected to the Board of the Russian Economic Council in Germany.

Russian Economic Council was founded in 2011 under the auspices of the Russian Embassy in Germany. Currently it has 57 members, among them Russian and German enterprises such as Gasprom Germania, Severstal, East-West-Office, Ernst & Young, Russian Post, Aeroflot, Nordic Yards Wismar and others. Kirovsky Zavod has been a member of the Council since its foundation.

“The Council represents interests of the Russian enterprises in Germany, helps them build a network and fosters exchange with other enterprises,” says Albrecht Bochow. The Council also organizes conferences and meetings to economic and social topics.

Other Board members elected include Partner at the Law Firm Beiten Burkhardt Christian von Wistinghausen; Senior Advisor of Wintershall Holding Alexander Rahr; Director of External Communications of Ilim Timber Svyatoslav Bychkov, and the Publisher of the MK-Newspaper in Germany Sergei Rodionov. The Council members also appointed the Head of the Trade Office at the Russian Embassy Andrey Zverev to its honorary chairman. According to Zverev, the Russian Economic Council in Germany has established a significant reputation in the Russian-German community. “We are confident that the Council has an enormous growth potential and will have an impact on the development of the bilateral relations,” Zverev said.

On the same day the newly elected Board members met the Russian Ambassador in Germany Vladimir Grinin. They discussed possibilities for closer cooperation and agreed to hold regular meetings on current economic and political topics.

Albrecht Bochow underlined that Kirovsky Zavod is a long-term investor in Germany and has already made many experiences in investment and innovations. “In Russia we also work with several German enterprises,” he said. “We are ready to share our experiences with other Council members and contribute to the further development of this organization.”
