OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2013. Today in many developed countries the problem of exhaustion of traditional energy resources stimulates development of alternative energy. At the international level there are used measures to protect the environment and to reduce greenhouse effect during biofuel production. The European Union (hereinafter referred to as the EU) pays particular attention to the given problem in recent years. NIBULON does not stand aside either.

In 2009 the EU adopted Renewable Energy Directive (RED) 2009/28/EC (hereinafter referred to asthe Directive)which specifies obligatory parameters for constant production and biomass processing. These parameters include ecological cultivation of fields, protection of woodland and other biotopes (a biotope is a part of the land surface with more or less singe-type living conditions), reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and also social responsibility of producers. The given document concerns not only European producers of biodiesel and bioethanol, but also suppliers and producers of grain regardless of country of origin of raw materials, as agricultural commodities pass a certification supply chain including grain production (for example, farms) and elevators (grain collection points).

Ukraine (as one of the largest grain exporters in the world) and NIBULON (one of the leaders of Ukraine’s agrarian market) play one of the key roles in implementation of the Directive 2009/28/EC statements.

The most widespread instrument for the Directive implementation in Europe is to undergo certification in compliance with the certification system ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification)approved by the European Commission in July 2011.

In July 2011 NIBULON received the primary certificate of conformity with the Directive requirements and also a registration number in the international system ISCC DE – GmbH-DE-B-BLE-BM-10-SSt-10000561.

For information. ISCC DE system includes requirements to sell products only in Germany.  ISCC EU system covers all countries of the EU.

In May 2012 the company received confirmation of registration in the certification system ISCC for further certification and extension of production capacities and volumes of certified products according to the requirements of the certification system ISCC DE.  On completion of audit performed by SGS Ukraine in August our company confirmed the results of previous certification.

NIBULON successfully underwent certification of conformity with the requirements of ISCC EU approved by the European Parliament and the members of the European Council. The company also received an appropriate certificate.

The next successful certification will allow the company to increase the number of importers, to open new markets to sell grain and oil crops guaranteeing the highest quality of products and confirming minimal influence on the environment.
