OREANDA-NEWS. DTEK-sponsored department ‘Coal production and processing’ has been established at Dnipropetrovsk University. This is the first department to be established at a national university by a private energy company. DTEK has invested over 150,000 hryvnias to equip and furnish the department.

A more profound scientific and technological cooperation between DTEK and the National Mining University will promote the training of mining engineers, create an auspicious environment for practical training, facilitate employment of students, and bring technical education in line with the innovative practices and up-to-date standards. The department aims to contribute to updating the methodical base, develop workbooks and educational films, design experimental models and online courses, etc. The department’s staff will participate in training and appraisal of specialists at DTEK training centres and development of corporate professional standards.

DTEK concluded the agreement on cooperation with the National Mining University in 2010, as part of the project on Cooperation with higher educational establishments. This year, 20 graduates from the National Mining University have joined DTEK’s team. We are glad to employ trained specialists, who can well perform their duties and who are familiar not only with new technologies, but also with the safety rules’.
