OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ internal debt increased 5.2% on the month in May 2013 to 55.044 trillion Belarusian rubles (USD 6.3 billion) as of June 1, 2013 by the International Monetary Fund’s Special Data Dissemination Standards, an official with Belarus’ Finance Ministry told.

Belarus’ internal debt expanded 12.1% in January-May 2013. Adjusted for inflation, the internal debt grew by 5.2% since January 1, 2013.

Of the total internal state debt, the long-term debt of the government accounts for 52.4% (49.3% in April), short-term debt for 2.5% (2.9%) and the debt secured by the government for 46.9% (47.9%).

Belarus’ internal debt expanded by 52.3% in 2012 to Br49.102 trillion (USD 5.6 bn) as of January 1, 2013.
