OREANDA-NEWS. The first meeting to discuss the technological benefits of the collaboration between Metalloinvest and rolling stock operating companies Ferrotrans, New Forwarding Company (both part of Globaltrans) and Russian Railways has taken place at Lebedinsky GOK (“LGOK”). Participants at the meeting comprised representatives of Management Company METALLOINVEST, LGOK, Mikhailovsky GOK (“MGOK”), Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (“OEMK”), South Eastern Railway, Moscow Railway and other operating companies. Nazim Efendiev, First Deputy CEO and Sales Director of Management Company METALLOINVEST, chaired the meeting.

The participants reviewed the cooperation of the plants and transport companies over the past year, analysed its efficiency and quality, and discussed issues and required solutions.

Vyacheslav Stanislavsky, First Deputy General Director of New Forwarding Company, commented: “We agreed to meet in order to analyse our joint work and identify any bottlenecks. We are grateful for Metalloinvest's organisation of the event as our meeting was successful. Overall, all parties were satisfied with the collaboration: we are fulfilling the terms for the provision of rolling stock, and Metalloinvest is shipping products consistently.”

As part of the three-year contract signed in 2012 between Metalloinvest and Globaltrans, the latter's companies Ferrotrans and New Forwarding Company fully assumed Metalloinvest's freight deliveries (concentrate, pellets, briquettes, pig iron and steel products) to customers. At the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the collaboration and agreed that the majority of them were positive. In the past year, especially in the summer maintenance period, there were no 'windows' (breaks in deliveries). Metalloinvest fulfilled all requirements of deliveries to its customers.

Nazim Efendiev, First Deputy CEO and Sales Director of Management Company METALLOINVEST, added: “Today we have shown that we have learned to work under new conditions. Our partners - Ferrotrans and New Forwarding Company - established themselves as professionals. They are also pleased with our work and the way we carry out our business. I believe that the meeting was a success because there was an open exchange of views. Such meetings are very important for our company. They allow us to optimise our logistics processes, improve the planning of those processes, and reduce downtime and costs. I am very pleased that everyone agreed to join the meeting!”

The next similar meeting is expected to take place at MGOK.
