OREANDA-NEWS. The new bridge over the Moscow River was opened to automotive traffic on 22 July 2013, as part of the Moscow Small Ring Road in the suburb of Bronnitsy.

The reconstruction of the bridge over the Moscow River at km 25 and km 591 of the Moscow Small Ring Road through Iksha, Noginsk, Bronnitsy, Golitsyno, and Istra (the section between the Yegorievskoye Highway and Ryazanskoye Highway, Moscow region) was carried out by Mostootryad-125, an affiliated branch of Mostotrest based in Kolomna.

The project’s customer was the Central Russia Federal Highway Directorate of the Federal Highway Agency (Tsentravtomagistral), the general designer was Mosgiprotrans. Mostotrest won the state contract in October 2011 open tender.

The construction of the new three-span, 311.7 meter-long highway bridge began in December 2011. The total length of the two-lane bridge with two ramps equaled 1,306.72 meters. In order to ensure safety for all travelers, the new pedestrian tunnel with a three-meter diameter was built in front of the bridge.

Under the contract, after the new bridge is commissioned, Mostootryad-125 will be required to deinstall the old arch bridge, currently in disrepair, which lies 27 meters upstream. In the process of dismantling of the central arch span, the arch will be transported up the Moscow River on the floating piers to the demolition place. The Company’s specialists plan to complete all work in January 2014 according to the project time-line.

The Moscow Small Ring Road is an A107 federal road (unofficially called “Betonka”, meaning “concrete road”, or “Pyatidesyatikilometrovka”, meaning “50-kilometer road”) built in the 1950-s. It stretches 335 kilometers, the first of which is located at the intersection with the Dmitrovskoe Highway. First time it appeared on the maps of Russian roads in 1993.
