OREANDA-NEWS. This week Nordecon AS has concluded two new construction contracts totalling EUR 12 million.

Nordecon AS and Kantauro OЬ concluded a contract for the construction in Tallinn of the Stroomi Shopping Centre at the cost of EUR 9 million plus VAT. The new shopping centre will be built at the intersection of Tuulemaa and Madala streets in the Pelgurand settlement area in the Northern District of Tallinn. “The net size of the Stroomi Shopping Centre, including its underground car park level, will be approximately 15,000 square metres. The key leaseholder on the first storey will be the Maxima retail chain with its XX store. The second storey will offer plenty of smaller leased spaces,” said Avo Ambur, Member of the Management Board of Nordecon AS. “The work will commence as soon as we obtain the building permit and, according to the initial estimates, the object will be completed in September next year.”

Pursuant to the second contract concluded this week, Nordecon will build, as commissioned by the Defence Ministry, access roads for the exercise sites of the Defence Forces and perform land improvements. “The first stage of this contract envisages the construction of roads leading to various exercise sites of our Defence Forces, totalling 25.3 kilometres in the Kuusalu rural municipality of Harju County and 8.2 kilometres in the Vaivara rural municipality of Ida-Viru County,” explained Avo Ambur. “In addition to the network of roads, we will build fire protection strips and water outlets for firefighters and perform land improvement and forest felling work so that the landscape is best suited for military exercises.” “The contract cost exclusive of VAT is approximately EUR 2.8 million and the duration is one year,” Avo Ambur added.

Avo Ambur also noted that while the company is cooperating with Kantauro OЬ for the first time, Nordecon was already engaged in several earlier joint projects with the Defence Ministry. “For instance, we built the infantry training centre for the Kuperjanov Battalion and last year we constructed a complex of buildings at the Дmari Air Base. We are currently designing and constructing the study building and the supplies warehouse for the Battle School of the Estonian National Defence College at the site of the Kuperjanov Battalion in Vхru,” Avo Ambur provided a few recent examples of the long-term and successful cooperation.
