OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2013. Voru's second industrial park, Vorukivi, was opened yesterday, with officials hoping to produce 50-100 jobs in the next few years.

Currently there is just one facility in the works, a building somewhat reminiscent of the Seaplane Hangars in Tallinn, and soon to house a modular construction company. A total of 14 properties are available on the premises for the future production facilities. The developer is negotiating with two other potential partners, ETV reported.

Regional Affairs Minister Siim Kiisler praised the project, saying job creation is an important part of preserving the vitality of rural areas. "Voru is indisputably the county's main urban center and and therefore the town must make an effort to ensure that there are enough jobs here," Kiisler said.
