OREANDA-NEWS. In July 2013, representatives of the Finland-based company Fortum visited JSC PIMCU to perform a supervisory audit. They met with the company’s management and personnel, inspected major production facilities, and assessed the relevant environmental and labour safety procedures.

Based on the findings of the audit, Fortum’s experts noted that considerable improvements have been achieved over the 5-year period since the previous audit and that JSC PIMCU strives to comprehensively develop its quality, environmental, health, and safety management systems, as well as  to obtain ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates.  Fortum’s representatives recommended that a number of complementary programmes be developed in order to enhance occupational safety.

The audit was performed within the scope of cooperation between the Finland-based company Fortum and ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. on the monitoring of a nuclear fuel supply chain. Earlier, Fortum’s representatives visited JSC Dalur (November 2010) and JSC Khiagda (September 2012) for similar purposes.
