OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Komi Republic (Komi OFAS Russia) initiated a case against “LUKOIL-Severo-Zapadnefteproduct” Ltd. suspecting that the company abused its dominant position on the market of oil products.

The case is initiated under Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. Breaching the contract conditions, “LUKOIL-Severo-Zapadnefteproduct” Ltd. considerably reduced supplies of diesel fuel to “Severgeophizika” OJSC in December 2010.

Komi OFAS Russia points out that at the end of 2010 – beginning of 2011 prices for diesel fuel in the Republic increased. At the same time, vertically-integrated oil companies with dominant position supplied oil products first of all to their affiliated companies.

“LUKOIL-Severo-Zapadnefteproduct” Ltd. has dominant position on the wholesale and retail market of diesel fuel in the Komi Republic, and therefore has no right to abuse its position. According to our data, the oil company short-delivered over 151 tons of winter diesel fuel to the geologic exploration company”, explained the Head of Komi OFAS Russia, Natalia Gurevskaya.
