OREANDA-NEWS. At OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, a new heat-treatment furnace produced by Bosio (Slovenia) has been set into operation.

The furnace is aimed at heating for normalizing, hardening and tempering of sheet steel of special grades and allows conducting heat treatment of products up to 13m high and 3.9m large. Maximal load weight - 80 tons. Due to improvement the furnace meets all the up-to-date requirements and standards referred to gas heat-treatment furnaces of new generation (temperature control accuracy ±5 °C, heating rate up to 100°C/h, cooling rate up to 40°C/h). This furnace will be used for heat-treatment steel sheet of perspective grades with hardening temperature up to 1150°С. Moreover setting into operation of this furnace guarantees reducing gas expenditure for sheet heat-treatment by 20%.

The furnace is equipped with advanced gas burner units with burn-in recuperation and up-to-date automated control system with control and measuring instruments. Advanced heat-insulating materials are used for furnace lining.

The equipment has been purchased and installed in terms of investment program executed by financial support of Gazprombank.
