OREANDA-NEWS. As part of the corporate leadership and growth Chairman’s award that was bestowed to a Senior Vice President & General Manager within GE Capital’s Retail Finance business, the recipient, Curtis Howse, used that opportunity to support Young Black Male (YBM) Leadership Alliance of Charlotte, N.C. YBM is an organization that is focused on leadership development and college preparation for young black males.

“This generous grant from GE will allow YBM Leadership Alliance to continue our valuable 3rd Grade Mentoring Program, which pairs our high-achieving high school male leaders with these young students,” said YBM CEO and Founder John Martin. “These leaders help the students improve their critical reading skills, character, and overall academic performance. I am so grateful to be able to implement this program with the partnership and support of GE. We are excited about the possibilities grant represents.”

“It’s a great feeling to be able to support the smaller community-based organizations that are doing so much to improve the lives of those in need, and for this program, help develop the next generation of leaders,” said Howse. “In addition to the countless number of hours our employees volunteer, these grants are another great way we give back to local non-profits.”
