OREANDA-NEWS. The seminar on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for Processing Industries held within the framework of the National Accounting and Auditing Reforms Programme of Turkmenistan started in the Turkmen capital. The seminar organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) jointly with the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan brought together the leading specialists of the oil and gas industry of our country.

As is known, according to this Programme, the complex work on transition to the national accounting and auditing system, which fully comply with the international financial reporting standards in this sphere, starting from January 1, 2014 is carried out in our country. In particular, the key measures stipulated in the document include translation of the standards into the official language given the changes and amendments to the regularly updated international financial reporting standards.

As was noted within the first working day of the seminar, the wide adoption of the international practices through cooperation with the world leading financial structures, old and reliable partners, including USAID is an important step towards efficient reformation of the financial and economic system of our country, the complex implementation of the National Programme of the Social and Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030.
