OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2013.  The president of Moldova Nicolae Timofti noted that on suggestion of the Prime Minister Iurie Leanca he signed a decree to release Veaceslav Negruta from his post on the basis of submitted application and signed a decree on the appointment of the new head of the Ministry of Finance- Anatol Arapu. Nicolae Timofti stressed that Anatol Arapu is a well-known person in the field of finance; he headed the Ministry of Finance in 1998-1999 in governments Ciubuc-2 and Ion Sturza.

The President said that Anatol Arapu has a large experience in finance, including cooperation with international financial institutions, and he will contribute to the improvement of the financial system in the country. Anatol Arapu served as a minister of finance in 1998-1999, after he worked as a financial director in the company Lukoil Romania and from 2001 up to date held the post of the Deputy Director General for economic and financial issues. Anatol Arapu was born November 27, 1962 in Vasieni village, Ialoveni.

He is a graduate of the State Chisinau University in 1985, Moscow Economics and Statistics Institute in 1987 and the Institute of the World Trade Organization in Geneva in 1993.
