OREANDA-NEWS. Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ OJSC) – member of the Power Machines Company – has manufactured and successfully tested the first 63 MW turbine for a thermal power plant being under construction in Sovetskaya Gavan (Khabarovsk Territory).

KTZ OJSC and NPO Elsib OJSC signed a contract to supply power equipment for the thermal power plant in Sovetskaya Gavan in 2011. Under the contract terms Kaluga Turbine Works is to design, manufacture, supply and provide installation supervision and commissioning of two T-63-13/0.25 steam turbines each having a capacity of 63 MW.

The design of T-63-13 turbines is a new project for KTZ OJSC. The machines manufactured for the thermal power plant in Sovetskaya Gavan will become basic ones in series production. They will be made to replace turbines with similar capacity and overaged turbines at power plants. The new turbine is more advanced and meets today's requirements for all parameters.

The equipment will be operated at the thermal power plant being under construction in Sovetskaya Gavan. The plant is being built to provide electric power for the developing Vanino-Sovetskaya Gavan transport hub and thermal power for Sovetskaya Gavan.
