OREANDA-NEWS. The freight turnover of Murmansk Commercial Seaport (MCSP) has increased by 11.7% in 8 months of 2013 against the January-August 2012 indicators and amounted to 11,529,000 tonnes.

In August, the monthly freight turnover reached its historic high of 1,658,800 tonnes (+12.6% vs August 2012), with coal transshipment amounting to 1,362,300 tonnes (+15.6% vs the same indicator in 2012).

Within the month, the port has handled 45 vessels including 19 vessels with coal (in August 2012 it was 52 vessels including 18 carrying coal) and 22,543 railway cars including 17,395 of those with coal (in August 2012 it was 20,155 railway cars including 15,855 of those with coal, respectively).

Within the same period ZAO Agrosfera has handled 55,420 tonnes of fertilizers, while OOO Murmansk Bulk Carrier Terminal has handled 204,630 tonnes of bulk cargoes.

The consolidated freight turnover of the three stevedoring companies of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport amounted to 1,918,850 tonnes.
