OREANDA-NEWS. There was a delegation from Hebei province taking part in the 17th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), in the city of Xiamen, Fujain province that ended up signing 32 agreements of investment and trade, bringing in USD 2.025 million worth of investment, USD 1.657 billion of it from abroad, for a rise of 62.93 percent over last year's event.

This year's CIFIT started Sept 8 and runs for four days, to the 11th.

The Hebei delegation had a booth in the exhibition hall to show their investment advantages in key regions, industries and projects.

Niu Jing, the designer of the Hebei's exhibiting booth, said that the theme of it was "Sharing the rewards of opening up and creating opportunities to cooperate", with the 1600-square–meter space expected to attract investment.

One staff member said that there were many investors interested in Hebei and generally paid more attention to costal parts of the province, for example, a group of businessman from Taiwan who were quite familiar with the province's ports and clearly knew about the convenient logistics and cheaper costs.

One of them commented, "Hebei stretches around Beijing and Tianjin and is an important province for the Bohai economic zone. Its transportation is convenient and it has logistics industry advantages."

For this year's CIFIT, Hebei highlighted its costal areas and the upgrade of its industrial structure and pushed some projects in new energy sources, new materials, environmental protection and energy conservation to get more investment.

One member of the Hebei Development and Reform Commission said that they got 16 projects with an investment worth more than USD 10 million and that the bulk of it came from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
