OREANDA-NEWS. Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman – Member of the Board Sergei Vasiliev participated in the 9th Shanghai Cooperation Interbank Consortium Council meeting (SOC IC) timed to coincide with the SCO Heads of State Council meeting to be held in Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic) on September 13, 2013.

The main themes of discussion were implementation of investment projects and cooperation with financing institutions of SOC observer states and dialogue partners.

The meeting’s participants discussed issues of their day-to-day activity and identified top priority objectives faced by the Interbank Consortium as part of implementing the Strategy for the Further Development of SCO IC in the mid-term (2012-2015).

IC member banks approved a Regulation on the Procedure for the functioning of the SCO IC Working Group on Considering Joint Investment Projects and Mechanisms for Guaranteeing and Insuring Investments. The Document is designed to step up work on selecting investment projects for their potential funding by SCO IC member banks .


The Tajikistan State Savings Bank ‘Amonatbank’ was elected SCO IC Chairman Bank for 2013-2014.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Consortium (SCO IC)was established on October 26, 2005. Its activity is aimed at supporting interregional economic development. The Interbank Consortium incorporates the following SCO member states’ authorized banks: the Kazakhstan Development Bank, the China State Development Bank, RSK Bank (Kirgizia), State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’, the Tajikistan State Savings Bank ‘Amonatbank’, and the Uzbekistan National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs. In 2012-2013, OJSC RSK Bank is the IC Chairman Bank.
