OREANDA-NEWS. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) announced that it would conduct 2D seismic survey operations in the country's marine zones mid-September. A statement by the company said that the seismic survey would cover around 7,000 kilometers in length and would be the beginning of operations to discover oil and natural gas in the sea.

KOC revealed that it was planning on a 3D seismic survey which would include areas in Kuwait bay and the capital city. The company added that the survey would cover an area of 3,500 square kilometers. KOC signed a USD 29.5 million deal with an international company last April to conduct a 2D seismic survey to all marine zones in the upcoming three years. The seismic survey operation is the first for KOC in the last 30 years.
